The Durma Swing Beam (SB) series of shears has a very rigid upper beam box frame construction. This allows the rake angle of the upper blade to be a very low angle. The beam pivots on two very large spherical bearings which, when combined with the box frame construction of the upper beam, provides a constant blade gap clearance.

The Durma variable rake angle shears provide versatility along with the technology and contruction for shearing thin narrow strips or the precision processing of large plates. This is a guillotine style shear where the upper beam is guided by adjustable preloaded and hardened guide ways. Both the rake angle and the blade gap are adjusted hydraulically. The operator simply enters the material thickness, type, and back gauge dimension, and the CNC control automatically calculates the optimum setting of the blade gap and rake angle.
